Message from the Editor-in-Chief, MaryKate Carter
Welcome to the Spartan Review: Michigan State University’s new and alternative news source. It is our mission to supply the students of Michigan State University and the surrounding community with truth. We offer readers information on current news and issues. The Spartan Review aims to encourage discussion and spark critical thought. While we write from a conservative perspective, we urge our readers to think; we will never say what they should think. Our goal is to produce a reliable news source, celebrating the American tradition of free press.

As conservatives, we work to defend and promote the liberty of Americans. Our news stories may seem to reflect this perspective. Our columns will undoubtedly reflect the American values we treasure. We hope the paper will encourage conservatives across campus that they are not alone in their beliefs. However, The Spartan Review welcomes readers from all points of view. Regardless of political affiliation, there is something in each issue for every reader.

This is a newspaper, not a political essay forum. Look forward to news, reviews, and special interest pieces. We earnestly attempt to portray the full story no matter what we’re covering. We urge all readers to critically think about the information we provide and formulate informed opinions. Sometimes we may illuminate issues on campus, and we hope every reader will walk away more informed and perhaps motivated to get involved. We welcome your comments, reactions, ideas, and even criticisms. Our P.O. Box (please see contact information) is always open for letters to the Editor. We hope to receive feedback from readers whether it be positive or negative. The Spartan Review is meant to connect its readers to their news and community. We will provide you with the clear story, but only you can formulate your opinion.
